I’m not one of those folks who likes to be super strategic about stuff I post on social media sites.
My general philosophy is: share when you have something valuable to say. I’m not going to automate my posts. Frankly, if the content is good, people will discover it.
But there are lots of people who do like to plot and plan and schedule their posts.
And there’s been lots of research on the best times of the day and week to post to social media sites. For example Dan Zarella, who calls himself a social media scientist, has a great website with a lot of useful stuff about who does what, when and why online.
