What you say totally resonates with me Erin. A friend on Twitter put it best when she said something along the lines of: didn’t they invent the interwebs so we don’t have to out there?

Amen sister! Social media is a godsend, especially for writers like myself who often lack the ‘get up and go’ to get out and network. “What do you mean I have to talk to you? Can’t I just use my keyboard?”

However, I think a lot of people are cautious about social media because they’ve seen the gross on-line blunders that others have made – everything from e-fighting with other on-line users, to terible grammer mistkes. Used properly, blogs/Facebook/Twitter can be excellent marketing tools. One slip, and your record is permanent for all to see.

So exercise caution and restraint (and spellchecker!), but otherwise dive right in and get your feet wet!

Hello Liz,
Hey if you remember couple of months ago , even I was one of those who do not like to be on social media and now today just , because of your advice I would say my biggest traffic to my blog is through twitter ans social media platform like those .
Friends definitely use those sites .
